Pune Chapter of the Green Economy India was started on the 12 th of October 2025 when a few environmental organizations and individuals came together in Pune to coalesce their efforts on green economy. The city has a long history of environmental activism and knowledge creation.

Currently the chapter will work with colleges in offering green economy programmes for the colleges in the city as a semester wide programme apart from periodic programmes for green entrepreneurs and enterprises.
